209 Found in 1920 census with parents, record says single, but it looks like a D to me, not an S. She still is named Welcome, but may have been divorced. Definitely not a Wd for widow in the record. Oddly, she is listed with son Lewis, 7, fits, but also Cleo, 11, which would imply a marriage before 1909. Thomas, her husband, is in the 1910 census with his parents and is listed as single. THOMAS MASSEY

228 Thomas Massey sailed to Pennsylvania on the Endeavor out of Liverpool. The ship anchored in the Delaware River at Upland (now Chester) on Sept.29, 1683. Many of the passengers were from Marple, so they called theirnew home Marple Township. They were Quakers fleeing from religiouspersecution. Many of the richer passengers brought indentured servantswith them. When their term was over, they were given 50 acres of land bytheir masters, and 50 acres from William Penn.

In 1692, ThomasMassey married Phebe Taylor, another passenger on theEndeavor. By 1696, Thomas was able to buy 300 acres of land from JamesStanfield (Thomas had been indentured to Francis Stanfield) and began tobuild his house with bricks manufactured on the site. Thomas and Phebehad seven children, beginning their line of Masseys here in America.

____________________________________

from a posting by Travis Miscia:

I don't know the children for Benjamin & Peobe either, but I can nameone of the children of his brother, Ebenezer. Ebenezer married SusannahVarnum, Phebe's sister, and also moved to Maine. He probably had morechildren, but the one son I have for him was Sylvanus Poor, b. 1808, m.Mary Merill. Sylvanus was the grandfather of Henry Varnum Poor, who isfamous in the railroad industry.

Benjamin and Ebenezer were sons of Samuel Poor and Deborah Kimball,Samuel being a grandson of Daniel of Andover. I'll see what I can findon the other Benjamin.

___________
and another:

I've just found the children of Benjamin & Phebe. They are:
Phebe Poor, b. 24 Jun 1754
Patty Poor, b. 23 Dec 1758
Benjamin Poor, b. 15 Sep 1760, m. Joanna Batchelder
Patty Poor, b. 24 Feb 1765
Samuel Poor, b. 30 May 1767 m. Ann Moody Merill
James Poor, b. 13 Dec 1769 m. Nancy Johnson
Dorothy Poor, b. 2 Feb 1722

Here are the male children of his brother, Ebenezer Poor:
Ebenzer Poor II, b. 4 Jan 1758, died young
Ebenezer Poor II, b. 28 Oct 1765, m. (1)Lucy Wasson and (2)BetseyStevens, died in Andover, ME
Sylvanus Poor, b. 7 Mar 1768 m. Mary Merill
William Poor, b. 3 Aug 1770, died young
William Poor, b. 5 Sep 1776 m. Susan Farrington

It seems most likely that Benjamin Joy Poor was a great-grandson ofeither Benjamin or Ebenezer. Benjamin II and Joanna Batchelder hadanother son Benjamin, born Feb. 2 1794. Samuel and Anna Merill had ason Benjamin born Sept. 26, 1804.
BENJAMIN JOY POOR
